Environment 01

Caring for the Environment

We strive to protect the environment and carefully handle all resources consigned to us. We perform cross-functional projects with the objective of constantly improving both products and processes with regard to resource conservation and environmental compatibility, improving both our own ecological footprint and those of our customers.

We believe that protecting our climate, and reducing our environmental impact and associated costs are not only the right thing to do, but also make good business sense.

We consider the environmental impact of our business and operations through the whole product lifecycle, from development to production and delivery to our customers. For us, sustainable business operations require:

  • eliminating the design and manufacturing of products that contain hazardous substances or release harmful emissions;
  • making efficient use of materials and minimizing the amount of raw materials and supplies used;
  • reducing the consumption of energy and other natural resources;
  • actively managing and optimizing the supply chain and introducing innovative logistic concepts to reduce our carbon footprint.

Environment 02

Green Supply Chain

As a globally operating company, we move a considerable quantity of goods every day. Our logistics specialists continually analyze all flows of goods – starting with raw material procurement to the supply to customers – and develop efficient transport solutions to minimize the environmental impact of our logistics process. We increasingly bundle raw material supplies and augment transport capacity utilization of trucks to reduce the distances travelled. Wherever possible, we avoid the air freight, reduce sea cargo volumes by using buyers consolidation containers and enhance the use of railway freight as an eco-friendly means of transportation.

We continuously optimize our packaging methods and have adopted recyclable materials where possible. Styrofoam, wrapping film, and other materials are handed over to specialized recycling companies for use in the production of other products, such as plastic bottles.

Taking an active part in customer benchmarks, we share our knowledge concerning essential ecological issues in the field of logistics.

Environment 03

Recycling is Better than Disposal

Following our aim to reduce waste to zero, our product design and our selection of production materials shall maximize our ability to recycle. We have re-used raw, process and operating materials in our plants for years. Our waste management system forms part of the overall environmental management system and follows the same standard in all affiliated locations.

Environment 04

Reliable and Competent Partner

Joyson Safety Systems contributes its technological competence within the context of several research projects, bodies and forums of high environmental relevance. This helps us create exceptional conditions for groundbreaking innovations. While offering our customers these competitive advantages, other organizations, the environment and society equally profit from future-oriented material and energy efficient Joyson Safety Systems products.

Responsible
Business Practices

For us, conducting business in a responsible way is key to long-term success. Responsible business practices create economic and societal value. Our products, services and manufacturing methods reflect our commitment to ethics and compliance and our caring for the communities in which we operate and the environment.

Responsible Business Practices 01

Zero Tolerance for Bribery and Corruption

We believe that all forms of bribery and other corrupt practices are an inappropriate way to conduct business regardless of local customs. Joyson Safety Systems is committed to complying with all applicable anticorruption laws.

We do not allow the payment or receipt of bribes, kickbacks, or facilitation payments, at any time for any reason and expect our business partners to comply with all applicable anticorruption laws and to ensure compliance with all United Nations and Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development conventions against corruption.

Responsible Business Practices 02

Fair and Open Competition

We believe in fair and open competition. We never look to gain competitive advantages through unethical or illegal business practices.

Fair competition allows companies to compete in the marketplace on price, quality and customer service. It requires to act in accordance with existing competition (antitrust) laws, which prohibit restraints of trade by means of collusion, coercion or abuse of economic power.

We compete in a fair manner and comply with applicable competition (antitrust) laws and we expect the same from our business partners.

Responsible Business Practices 03

Conflict Minerals

Joyson Safety Systems is committed to manufacturing products whose sourced components are in compliance with all applicable laws. To that end, Joyson Safety Systems’ suppliers are expected to comply with all applicable local, country and international laws regarding material content for the materials supplied to Joyson Safety Systems. At Joyson Safety Systems’ request, suppliers must provide to Joyson Safety Systems reports on the occurrence of substances in any materials supplied to Joyson Safety Systems that may be restricted by, or require disclosure to, governmental bodies, customers and/or recyclers.
